Daylight, ideally out of harsh midday sun.
Face clearly visible
Looking towards the camera or in clean profile.
Ears forward, markings clear
An alert expression and visible markings.
Minimal obstruction
No headcollar over markings if possible, no fences across the face.
High resolution
The sharper the better — not cropped tightly.
